Mediation
Mediation in Conflicts
Mediation provides opportunities to clarify the situation and supports the shift from conflict to cooperation. Behind every stressful situation there is the chance for positive changes and the development of new potential.
What is Mediation?
Mediation is a creative conflict solution process whereby the conflicting parties work out a solution on their own responsibility that is right for both sides. During this process they are supported by the mediator.
Prerequisites for Mediation
Mediation is only possible when all the parties of the conflict have an interest in solving the issue, all the parties take part voluntarily in the mediation, there are no extreme differences (imbalances) in the power positions of the conflicting part.
Duration and Cost of Mediation
For mediation between two individuals, experience shows that several sessions of 1.5 to 2 hours duration are necessary. In the case of groups or teams, mediation may take a whole day, depending on the conflict.
